Christmas is here…well, kind of.
We hope everyone had a lovely thanksgiving filled with delicious and heart warming food! We still can’t believe it’s over. I mean, Halloween felt like it was yesterday! While we mourn the passing of Thanksgiving, let me fill you guys in on how our thanksgiving day went down. We started our morning off with cooking and baking while watching the parade (my favorite.) However, we spent Thanksgiving itself separately with our families. In our defense, our families live 2 hours apart from each other and we both had prior obligations to fulfill, so we had a difficult time finding a way to share the holiday with each other. On the brighter side, the distance didn’t stop either of us from enjoying the day!
My family is from New Orleans, so every year around the holidays I am filled with excitement for eating some of my favorite foods such as gumbo and yams. For those of you who have never tried gumbo, I strongly recommend you do so, it’s one for the books. I have been going on and on about gumbo all year round, so I was especially excited for Hannah to try it. Lets just say that she’s now a big fan.
Thanksgiving is out and Christmas is in.
With Thanksgiving over, Hannah and I couldn’t wait to haul in the Christmas decor. If I’m being honest, we’ve been waiting to fill our home with Christmas joy since October. Although, we did debate on how early is too early to decorate our apartment with Christmas decor. Hannah voted on decorating in mid-November, while I took a little more convincing. Hannah’s family has a tradition of decorating the day after thanksgiving, while my family always decorates some time in December. And by sometime, I mean any time between December 1st and the week before Christmas. Hey, life gets in the way. But with so many amazing things happening for us this year, we feel more grateful than ever and we wanted to share these moments with you guys!
Here’s to decorating our first Christmas Tree!
Christmas tree from Big Lots.

Until next time,
