This blog post is in partnership with Tourisme Montréal
As we finish off our “official” summer (in CA summer basically continues until October… but we digress) we wanted to share a huge accomplishment that we have recently checked off of our bucket list. That accomplishment is completing our first international trip together!

Travelling internationally together has been a goal of ours since we met. We dream of travelling the world, and documenting everything along the way. And this August, we were lucky enough to start with Montreál, Quebec! We were invited by Tourisme Montréal and Destination Canada to attend Montréal Pride and all of the festivities over the weekend.
While we were there, there were four nights of events for Fierte Montreal. Each night brought a new experience and way to celebrate with everyone who flocked to The Village for the festivities. We sang, danced, and laughed until we were too exhausted to stay out any longer. Then, we retired to the incredible Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel. However, our sleep had to be efficient- have you all ever known us to miss breakfast?

While our nights were spent out in The Village, our days were for exploring. We had the privilege of seeing the gorgeous architecture and character of Old Montreál, enjoying the artsy streets of The Village during the day, and eating at the most lovely restaurants for lunch. The emphasis on public art in Montréal is easily one of our favorite parts of the city. Everywhere we turned, there was a mural or public art piece with history and pride behind it. In many ways, exploring the city felt like an extended outdoor gallery. But beyond the metaphor, they actually did have an outdoor gallery as well!

One of our favorite parts of our time in Montréal was – well, you guessed it – the food! We have been becoming quite the foodies as of late, and Montréal did not disappoint! We absolutely adored every restaurant that Tourisme Montréal arranged for us to experience. Between the delightful ambiance and delicious courses, we had the time of our lives eating our way through the city!
Coming Soon: A post dedicated to our experiences with said amazing restaurants: Restaurant Joséphine, Les Enfants Terribles, Dominion Square Tavern, Restaurant Rosélys, Maggie Oakes, and Restaurant Jatoba.

Side Note: Not only did we have a wonderful time in Montréal, but we made some amazing friends as well. Check out our new friends Tommy Lei, Cristian and Corey (The Yoberts), and Kieth (who does not have a blog but we love him so much!). We took a lot of these photos while we were out and about exploring with everyone, and it was the most fun ever. What better way to experience a new city than by wandering with a group of new friends?

Ultimately, Montréal was a city full of surprises for us. We did not expect the exquisite European-esque character of the city streets, nor the incredible array of restaurants and cafés to enjoy. Our time in Montréal was amazing – absolutely unforgettable!
