Thank you to Waterl<ss for sponsoring this blog post!

You’ve heard of wash days – especially for the natural hair community, wash days are a huge subject. We talk about how frequently we should be washing our hair for its health, and we focus on the wash day as the center of our hair existence! But not us – we actually prefer our non-wash days… In fact, we are queens of the non-wash day!

What is a non-wash day?

For us, that’s most days. While we both have very different hair types and wash schedules, we both aim to wash our hair as little as possible. It’s healthier for our hair, and we can be lazier in the process! That’s a true win/win for us.

This is where Waterl<ss comes in.

Waterl<ss created a wide range of products for a diverse group of hair types for clean, conditioned, and great smelling hair without using a single drop of water. Basically, everything that we could ever want!

Waterl<ss began with a small team of scientists who aimed to improve the non-wash day experience for a diverse set of people and hair types. During the testing phase of their launch, a real-life way to test the Waterl<ss lineup emerged in Cape Town, South Africa.

In January 2018, the city announced it was 3 months away from running out of water for their city of 4 million. With water conservation being the greatest priority, Waterl<ss provided products that allowed for the people of Cape Town to clean and refresh their hair without using the city’s precious water.

We live in California, where water conservation is always at the front of our minds.

Water conservation is an issue that affects all of us, and we personally try to conserve water in any way that we can. This includes being responsible with our water-using appliances and being conscientious of our faucet use as well as shower times.

Keeping showers short is something we try to prioritize. But often, we are so busy that we don’t even need to think about it – we are just in and out!

So, what do we do when we don’t want to wash our hair?

I have straight, fine hair. After a couple of days without washing, she will start to be flat and oily near my scalp, but still dry near my ends. Because of this, I always prefer to wash my hair as close to once a week as I can. So Waterl<ss’s Dry Shampoo No Residue is a staple in my daily hair caree routine!

As a real estate agent, I operate out of my car. So I keep the Waterl<ss lineup in my car so that I’m always prepared to refresh my hair. Whether I’m coming from the gym or rushing out of the house to meet a client, I love having the security of knowing I can give my hair a quick flip and spray for instant volume and freshness on my scalp!

My hair is super curly and coily so my hair usually likes to be left alone as much as possible to thrive. This usually means going longer periods of time without washing my hair. In between those periods of time where I don’t wash my hair, I like to apply products to refresh my curls while also keeping my curls defined.

The Waterl<ss Dry Shampoo Foam is perfect for refreshing in-between my wash days and I like to follow that up with the Hair Balm for added conditioning and styling. This process is also the perfect travel routine. I don’t like to pack lots of hair styling products when I’m on the go so these two products allow for a quick and easy refresh of my curls!
