Money Money Money, Who doesn’t love it?
We’re born and raised to think that we must grow up and be something so that we can make money to live our best and most comfortable lives. At least, that’s what we’re taught here in America. We get it, money actually matters and we’re bitter sweet about it. Sometimes, we’re like, “why the hell do these pieces of paper hold so much power in the world?” We’re often disturbed by the broader idea of how money works. At the same time, we get it. Why does money matter so much to us as a society? Why do we consider a lot of it to be the end goal? Lastly, are we personally motivated by money?
Our answer is rather simple.
Yes, we are motivated by money. We don’t feel any shame about it either. Some people may look at us and think “well, of course you’re motivated by money. You’re two women, you’re high maintenance and need a lot.” Wrong. We don’t need a lot, we want a lot. There’s a difference, sweetie. We’re pretty much on the same page with what we want in life and money is at the forefront of making most of the things we desire in life possible. We want to travel in the near future. Without some sort of money, we don’t know how travel would be possible. We have yet to come across free plane tickets. If you know of any, definitely send us an email or DM on Instagram. We aren’t saying you need a lot of money to travel but the reality is you do need some.

Why is it wrong to like money?
We don’t think it’s wrong to like or even want money. Lets just say we both came from backgrounds where money did not grow on trees. Please don’t fight us on this, we know money is paper which comes from trees. Anyway, when you come from a background where money is scarce, you’re going to desire it a bit more. But the sad part is, people that don’t have a lot of money, just want money so they can relax. We aren’t talking about relaxing on a beach somewhere, although that would be nice too. We’re talking about relaxing mentally.
Sometimes, people can be insecure about liking money. They feel like wanting to make money from doing something they love takes away from how much they love it. Or worse, other people make them feel this way. In an ideal world, everyone would be able to do what they love just because they love it! But that’s not the world we live in. People need money to survive, and if something you love has monetary value, exploit it! That’s survival.
It’s extremely draining just trying to stay afloat, making the bare minimum with nothing left.
When we were kids, we would dream of buying a house, traveling the world, and living comfortably without financial worries. We don’t think that’s too much to ask. We actually think wanting these simple things while being held back by money is kind of silly. The biggest thing stopping us from seeing the world is money? In a broader sense, how silly?
We think it’s only human to be motivated by money.
Although, it still should be in a healthy way. If money was all that mattered to us, we might be taking a long hard look at ourselves in the mirror. While we do want money, (to buy Gucci) we also want money so that we can give back in some way. You know when you’re walking down the street and you see someone in need but you’re literally broke af? Same. Giving back is something that matters to us. Yes, we know that we can give back in other ways, but come on, reality is reality. Money does matter and it does help.
We won’t lie, we do love material things.
We talk about shopping all the time. From thrift stores to Chanel, we love it all. And we have the right to want to shop at these places. Liking material items doesn’t make a person bad. But again, if material items were all that mattered to us, we would be self-reflecting right about now. We don’t judge; we prefer to try to understand. Whether we like it or not, money exists, so we might as well jump in and get our little piece of the pie. We encourage you guys to do what makes you happy. Create the life you see for yourself. And remember, a little shopping never killed anybody.
That’s it for today folks.
Until next time,
