We’ve been together for 2 years. So that’s 2 years of traditions, right?

Not exactly. Last year was our first holiday season in our first apartment ever and it was amazing all around. While our first holiday season together was in 2016, our first year dating was a complicated one, and we were actually apart for the entire month of December. (Luckily, we still have some traditions that we started then, but more on that later).

This year marks our second year of celebrating holidays in our apartment, and we are so excited! Don’t get us wrong, we had an amazing summer and a just-as-amazing (although much busier) fall, but we are more than ready to venture into the holiday season.

Are we as excited this year about the holidays as we were last year?

This question actually has an answer, and it’s yes and no. Yes because it’s the holiday season and the holiday season is our favorite season of them all! No because we haven’t entirely wrapped our minds around the fact that it’s literally the middle of November! We’re both still stuck in an October kind of mentality, but we’re trying our best to catch up.

We’ve both been looking forward to the 2018 holiday season for over a year now, and that’s largely because Hannah graduates from college this December. Because of that, it’s still pretty surreal that we’re finally here!

Even though we’re excited for the holidays, we didn’t really prioritize anything else.

Last year, we had a lot of fun dressing the house up for fall, talking about fall TV shows, and creating a bunch of content about fall and Halloween. This year, we didn’t really document anything other than our Halloween costumes, and that was about all we could manage!

While we put up our wreath and bought some new pumpkin decorations, we didn’t really blog about any of it. Now that fall has pretty much transitioned into Christmas central, we wanted to reflect on what we’re doing differently this year.

Honestly, we’ll probably be doing a whole lot more.

Even though we slacked on the fall content, it was mostly due to being slammed with other stuff. And honestly, we weren’t feeling all that into pumpkins anyways. That being said, next year is a new year, and who knows what we’ll be feeling when September 2019 comes around.

This December, we’re amping our content game all the way up.

We really want to continue our traditions of blogging our house decor and when we put up our tree, because those memories are so special to us. This year, we’ll definitely do another set of decor blog posts, and we’ll be posting all our festivities on Instagram as usual. We’re also trying something brand new this year, which is participating in Vlogmas on our YouTube channel!

We want to challenge ourselves to document as much as possible, just to see how we like it. Who knows what will happen, but it just might become a new tradition.

What are some of your holiday traditions? Let us know in the comments!

Until next time,
