I’m Too Busy To Eat! – Soylent Review: A Full Meal In A Bottle
We LOVE Soylent, so this review will be all too real.
Before we even get started with this review, we would like to mention that we were sent a box of Soylent drinks to review on Instagram. We loved this product SO much that we wanted to write a full blown review on this product. An Instagram caption just won’t do it justice. So, let’s jump right into it.
Our love for Soylent goes back a few months now. We randomly started seeing ads for Soylent all over the internet (who knows, Google loves to track your every move). We fell in love with Soylent way before we had the opportunity to work with them because we loved their branding and, most importantly, their products! If you can't fit all three meals into your day, try Soylent! It's a full meal and a full cup of… Click To Tweet
Soylent drinks are a full meal in a bottle.
I’m hypoglycemic. For those of you who don’t know what hypoglycemia is, let’s just say it’s basically low blood sugar from not eating or drinking often enough. Not to sound all medical and what not, but some symptoms may be dizziness, lightheadedness, shaking, extreme hunger, and headaches. Yes, this is extremely annoying because if I’m not constantly snacking or eating, I start to feel like I’m going to faint.
Even though I know this about myself, life still gets in the way and it can be hard to remember to eat. It sounds so bad, but this is a safe space and I’m only being honest here! Hannah literally has to pack snacks for me every time we leave the house because we both know what happens when I don’t eat (bad stuff). It sounds a bit childish, but it’s crazy the things you’ll do for the ones you love. That’s why these meals in a bottle really changed the game for us.
Now, you can understand why Soylent brings us so much excitement.
With me being hypoglycemic and Hannah being a full-time college student, Soylent feels like the perfect compromise for us. Hannah is literally a coffee addict- I’m not kidding, she’s literally addicted to coffee. Although, I’m pretty sure it’s just the caffeine shes addicted too. If she had to choose between coffee and food, she would choose coffee every time.coffee>everything else Click To Tweet
THANKFULLY, Soylent has about as much caffeine as a cup of coffee. Did you hear me? I said as much caffeine as a cup of coffee! This would have been a much more difficult sell for Hannah if they hadn’t included the caffeine. She gets a complete meal in a bottle AND caffeine to keep her alive. Honestly, it’s life-changing.
We wouldn’t recommend drinking Soylent products to replace all of your meals.
But let’s face it, we can’t always eat a full meal. With 20g of protein, 400 calories in each bottle, and 20% of your daily nutrition, things are looking a lot like that lunch you’re constantly skipping. We can’t judge, we skip meals all the time and we’re always regretting it. If you’re like us, we often end up skipping lunch because lunchtime happens to be the busiest time of day for us. That’s when Soylent helps fill it in. It’s never going to be yummier than sitting down for a full meal, but it’s the perfect thing to hold you over during a busy day. Hannah would probably still choose coffee, and I would probably still choose a bowl from chipotle, but that’s beside the point. The point is, Soylent says, “here, you don’t have to stress about not being able to eat because we’re giving you a meal in liquid form”: who can say no to that?
Grab a bottle of Soylent for your next hike, picnic, lunch break, or after the gym and let us know how it fits into your life!
