We started 2019 by accomplishing a dream.
And that dream was traveling to New York City together. Since we were both California kids here on the west coast, going to the big city was something that we both grew up wanting to do. Each of us thought we would go to New York for school, or to live during our twenties. While we love our life as Angelinos, we still dreamed of traveling east to New York.
That’s why we were so excited to have the opportunity to stay in a Queen Sky Room at Arlo Hotels‘ location north of Madison Avenue in Manhattan. This hotel experience was a dream in and of itself, so adding on our initial dream of being in NYC at all… well, I guess that makes it a dream on top of a dream!
The Arlo NoMad is a boutique hotel in the thick of the city.
It stretches thirty stories into the sky and lifts you right up to become a part of the incredible Manhattan skyline. With floor to ceiling windows, the Arlo’s Sky Rooms are a New York experience like no other. Every night we went to sleep with the city lights, and every morning we opened the curtains to greet the sea of skyscrapers surrounding us.
If you want to truly experience the magic of New York City, look no further than a stay at the Arlo Hotels!
One of our favorite parts of staying at the Arlo NoMad had to be the uber-convenient bodega in the lobby. A coffee and a New York bagel were only an elevator ride away! The bodega is open 24/7 and keeps caffeine, pizza, and sandwiches on hand to feed your newfound inner New Yorker. Basically, we loved it.
Breakfast was another food highlight of our stay. To brag (yes, we’re bragging), this was just part of the spread we enjoyed: seasoned eggs, sausage, lox breakfast pizza, homemade granola, sausage, yogurt, fruit, and of course, bagels. Is there any other way to start a beautiful day in New York City?
While we stayed at the Arlo NoMad, we were able to visit the Arlo SoHo for dinner at Harold’s, an American restaurant overlooking the the hotel courtyard. After indulging in the brand new menu items featuring unique and delicious pasta dishes and the All-American wine selection, we returned home to the Arlo NoMad in a full-fledged food coma.
The Arlo NoMad isn’t just a food haven – it’s the artsy home-away-from-home that we never thought we would get from a hotel.
The Arlo doesn’t feel like just any hotel, it’s a cozy community-centric home in the middle of Manhattan. There are endless spaces to sit and work, be creative, or just to hang out in. Every doorway seemed to hold a surprise, whether that was a library, lounge, bar, or even igloos! Furthermore, each space invited you to sit and became exactly what you needed in that moment – an office, a living room, or in our case, the perfect place to take some photos for memories.
Overall, experiencing the Arlo NoMad was a dream start to our dream trip!
We loved every second of our stay, and we hope to experience the Arlo again during one of our future trips to New York City. Check out their Instagram here and check out the photos we posted below!
Until next time,
