We take our TV shows very seriously around here.
It’s no surprise that tv shows are some of the most ridiculously addicting yet comforting forms of entertainment. Hannah and I go from one show to the next like clockwork. Although we typically have a poor record of finishing them. We started True Blood at the beginning of the summer and abandoned it halfway through. Apparently, I have an addiction to starting a new show before I finish another. Hannah hates it, I love it, you get the point. With so many shows floating around out there, it can be difficult to find a new one that you actually feel excited about starting. Fortunately, we’re here to help! We’ve created a list of the 5 best TV shows you should start watching this fall.

1. American Horror Story: Cult
We have been a part of the American Horror Story fandom since season 1, episode 1. I’ve been slacking but don’t you worry, I’ve realized my faults and I’ve recently started picking up the slack. I missed AHS Coven so Hannah and I recently finished up that season a few weeks ago and, once again, I’m a believer. (If you think Nan didn’t deserve to die, raise your hands!) Anyway, American Horror Story doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, so if you can’t beat them, join them. We missed the first episode of American Horror Story: Cult that aired Septemeber 5th on FX, so we’ll be playing catch up. We hear there’s a lot of clowns and misplaced holes involved this season. So if you’re afraid of clowns or have trypophobia like I do, tread ever so lightly.
2. Stranger Things Season 2
If you were around last year lets say…around July 15th, then you might have heard of this Netflix Orginal series called Stranger Things. It was strange alright. With that taken into account, we absolutely loved the first season. And like many others, we have been impatiently waiting for season 2. Well, the time has come my friends! Season 2 is scheduled to air on October 31st. Yes, that is Halloween. If you haven’t seen season 1 yet, this will give you some time to play catch up before season 2 airs.
If you’ve never seen Stranger Things, let me give you some very basic information about the storyline.
Winona Ryder plays a character named Joyce Byers. Joyce lives in a small town in Indiana and the year is 1983. Joyce has two sons by the names of Will and Jonathan. When Will goes missing she gets the local police involved in a manhunt to find her son. Joyce and the police start to notice weird and unusual things involving secret government experiments, creepy supernatural forces, and a young girl who doesn’t seem know who she is.
If that doesn’t make you want to start watching, I don’t know what will.
3. The Gifted
The first episode of The Gifted aired on August 16th. If you are an X-Men fan, this one may be for you. I’ve never seen a single X-Men movie (to Hannah’s dismay). I’ve been wanting to play catch up, but every time I think about it, I get overwhelmed with how far behind I am. If you guys can please speak words of encouragement to get the ball rolling, that would be nice. The Gifted is about a group of mutant kids with special “gifts” or, in other words, special powers. Their parents fear for their kids’ lives, so they go on the run to protect their gifted kids from the many harsh outside forces.
I may be way behind on the X-Men bandwagon but I still have time to watch The Gifted. Tune into Fox on Saturdays to watch.
4. The Good Doctor
The Good Doctor is about a young surgeon by the name of Shaun Murphy who is diagnosed with both autism and Savant syndrome. Dr. Murphy gets recruited to work in pediatrics at a very highly respected hospital, but the question arises whether or a not a person that lacks the ability to relate to people can actually work to save their lives. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m already rooting for Dr. Murphy and show hasn’t even aired yet. It’s scheduled to air on September 25th on ABC. If you guys have seen the medical show House, then you might enjoy this one because it was brought to us by the same creator, David Shore. Hannah and I love House, I mean LOVE. With that in mind, we’re super excited about The Good Doctor. By the sound of things, it’s definitely giving us House vibes.
5. The Mayor
The Mayor sounds all too familiar. When a Hip-Hop artist runs for mayor to promote his mixtape, he actually wins. Hannah and I don’t watch too many comedy shows but this show definitely sounds like a comedy. I mean, this one speaks for itself. We don’t know what to expect because we haven’t actually watched The Mayor yet, as it’s scheduled to air on October 3rd on ABC. According to reviews and critics, it’s one you can’t miss this fall.
