We want to travel…..but isn’t that what they all say?
So, the time has come and we’re talking travel! We have been talking about traveling together since we met. Traveling has been one of our dreams and we’re determined to make it happen. Although, there have been a few things holding us back from doing so. Shall we list them? Let’s see… money, time, and not knowing where to start. Well, after a while, those same old excuses get old. We’re getting to a place where money isn’t the biggest threat – and time? We make time for things we want to prioritize.
Since it’s Pride month, we thought that this was the perfect time to talk about traveling while gay.
Before we start our travel journey, we want to take a few baby steps.
One thing that is very important to us while traveling is comfort and safety. By that, we mean traveling to places where we won’t have to fear for our lives as queer women. Considering that we have never really traveled before (not including a few states) we’re putting our safety first, at least in the beginning.
We know that there are lots of places that aren’t particularly accepting of the LGBTQ+ community, so we want to be cautious about which places we go to at first. We asked you guys to recommend your favorite places that are LGBTQ+ friendly, and we definitely listened!
So here it is – our LGBTQ+ Friendly Travel Bucket List!
New York City, New York
New Orleans, Louisiana
Nice, France and Paris, France
Madrid, Spain and San Sebastiàn, Spain
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Milan, Italy – and then hit Rome, Florence, and Naples.
Mykonos, Greece and Athens, Greece
Prague, Czech Republic
Gold Coast, Australia
Cape Town, South Africa
And that’s the gist!
If y’all know of any other LGBTQ+ friendly places that we’ve missed, hop in our comments on this post or DM us on Instagram.
Until next time,
Ariana & Hannah
